19. Peptococcus sp. MEDIUM

  • Casein peptone 10.0 g
  • Beef extract 3.0 g
  • Yeast extract 3.0 g
  • Glucose 2.0 g
  • Tween 80 1 ml
  • Cysteine hydrochloride 0.5 g*
  • Salt solution 40 ml
  • Distilled water 960 ml

Adjust pH to 7.2. For solid media add 15 g/L of agar powder.


Salt solution:

  • CaCl2 0.2 g
  • MgSO4.7H2O 0.2 g
  • K2HPO4 1.0 g
  • KH2PO4 1.0 g
  • NaHCO3 10.0 g
  • NaCl 2.0 g
  • Distilled water 1 L

* After autoclaving add asseptically 10 ml of a 5 % (w/v) solution of cysteine hydrochloride sterilized by filtration.
