25. Thiobacillus ferrooxidans MEDIUM WITH FERROUS SULFATE
KH2PO4 0.4 g
MgSO4.7H2O 0.4 g
(NH4)2SO4 0.4 g
FeSO4.7H2O 33.3 g
0.1N H2SO4 1 L
Adjust pH to 1.4 with H2SO4 (6N). For solid medium dissolve the ingredients in half of the volume required. In the remaining water dissolve 20 g/L of agar. Sterilize separately at 115 °C for 25 min. Mix and dispense aseptically in sterile screw-capped tubes when still hot.
