CECT certified strains have been checked for their cultural and phenotypic characteristics as recorded for the equivalent WDCM strains recommended by UNE-CEN ISO/TS 11133. The species specific profile of each strain has been controlled by means of widely used miniaturized systems such as API test and by growth on selective and differential culture media.
Therefore, they can be used without any further checking as standards in Microbiology research, quality control and interlaboratory comparison studies.
