COURSE OUTLINE
This course will deal with all the theoretical-practical aspects related to conserving and controlling the authenticity of strains of bacteria, filamentous fungi and yeasts, with a total duration of five days with sessions in the morning and the afternoon. The following topics will be dealt with:
- Preservation methods.
- Recovering freeze-dried samples.
- Recovering strains preserved by methods other than freeze-drying.
- Controlling viability and purity.
- Controlling authenticity:
- Physiological and biochemical tests.
- Differential media.
- Miniaturized identification systems.
- Simple methods for short-term preservation:
- Preparation and storage of the sample.
- Methods of obtaining standardized inocula.
