As of the 1st of June 1992, the CECT acquired the status of International Depository Authority (ADI) under the regulations of the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedures. Bacterial strains are accepted, including actinomycetes, fungi and yeasts.
The bacterial strains accepted must belong to the risk groups below 2, in accordance with the Real Decreto 664/1997 of the 12th of May 1997 (Official State Bulletin of the 24th of May 1997, pages 16100-16111). Likewise, we do not accept the deposit of filamentous fungi or yeasts that are known to be plant, animal or human pathogens.
