Strains orders - orders@cect.org

The main function of the CECT is to keep and to distribute microbial strains to a wide range of users.
The prices of the strains supplied by the CECT vary according to where they are going to be sent.

Strains for Research:
For Public Centres (Universities and CSIC centres), the strains for research are sent with a delivery note, which outlines the characteristics of the strain the chemical composition of the media recommended for recovery and growth but without an analysis certificate.
For foreign orders it is necessary to send the CECT an order on officially headed paper of the University, stamped and signed by the person who is in charge of the strains. The payment of the pro forma invoice sent on receiving the order is a compulsory condition for strains to be sent abroad. In these cases you should bear in mind that some banks charge commission on transferences or on emitting cheques. The net amount to be received by the CECT must be that indicated on the corresponding pro forma invoice.
In exceptional cases, and provided they are not anaerobic microorganisms, the CECT will send the strains in an active culture, at an additional cost.
See Price List

State, regional and municipal laboratories of the Public Health Service:
All the strains will be sent with a "Certificate of analysis "and "Delivery note", which will give the characteristics of the strain and the composition of the media recommended by the CECT for their recovery and later growth.
See Price List

Companies, Private Universities, Foundations and other institutions:
As in the case of official institutions, the strains will always be sent with a delivery note and an analysis certificate. In exceptional cases, and as long as it does not concern anaerobic microorganisms, the CECT will send the strains in an active culture, at an additional cost.
